Terms of use

Effective April 20, 2026

These terms govern your use of the ShipboardAI website at shipboardai.com. Engagements with our consulting practice are separately governed by a written statement of work; nothing on this site creates a consulting relationship on its own.

Acceptance

By using shipboardai.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Informational content, not professional advice

The content on this site, including blog posts, updates, and solution pages, is published for general information. It is not engineering, legal, security, compliance, or financial advice for your specific situation. Do not act on it without qualified professional guidance applied to your own vessel, fleet, and operating environment.

Scope of services

ShipboardAI designs, builds, and deploys the AI and data software layer of on-vessel systems, including private language-model deployments, retrieval and knowledge systems, voice interfaces, and custom applications. We also specify and install the compute hardware that runs those systems where an engagement requires it. Specific scope, deliverables, acceptance criteria, and service levels are defined in a written statement of work for each engagement and are not implied by anything on this site.

We are not a classification society, a shipyard, a bridge-equipment OEM, or a certified marine electrician. We do not sell safety-of-life automation, propulsion or ballast control, navigation systems, engine-room automation, or any system whose failure could directly cause personal injury or vessel damage. Where work involves class approval, flag-state certification, structural modification, or integration with safety-class machinery, we coordinate with the parties qualified and certified for that work; we do not perform it.

Blog posts and commentary on this site may analyze or discuss safety-critical or class-approved domains as industry subjects. Such analysis is not an offer to build, supply, or support systems in those domains under any engagement.
